CGC-graded Hulk and Avengers Lead ComicConnect Auction
Posted on 20/01/2023
Many Marvel and DC key issues that are graded by Certified Guaranty Company® (CGC®) can be found in the February Mega Monthly auction on ComicConnect, which ends on February 2, 2023.
Currently leading the auction is an Incredible Hulk #181 graded CGC 9.8, featuring the first full appearance of Wolverine, after his cameo introduction in Incredible Hulk #180, which is also available in this auction graded CGC 6.0.
In a story by writer Len Wein and artists Herb Trimpe, Jack Abel and John Romita, Wolverine mysteriously emerges from the woods to join a fight between Hulk and Wendigo. The issue includes a Marvel Value Stamp on the letters page that readers could cut out and collect. As a result of these missing pieces, many copies of Incredible Hulk #181 are graded with CGC Qualified green labels. The CGC Universal blue-labeled books, such as this one, are more valuable because they are complete.

Another exciting book in this auction is an Avengers #4 graded CGC 5.0. This Silver Age book by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby revived the Golden Age hero Captain America (which Kirby co-created with Joe Simon) to join the newly formed team of “Earth’s Mightiest Heroes.” Captain America has been a fixture of the team, and a leading character for Marvel Comics, ever since he thawed from the ice in the comics.
An Avengers #4 graded CGC 2.0 is also available in this auction.
